RWANDA CGA held a press conference for Gold Coast 2018.

On Friday, Mrach 09, 2018, The Rwanda Commonwealth Games Association (Rwanda-CGA) held a press conference at Ministry of Sports Culture headquarters to explain more about how’s the preparation is going on for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games that will begin on April 04. seventeen athletes are ready to well represent RWANDA in cycling, beach volleyball, athletics and para power-lifting . The President of Rwanda-CGA, Amb. Valens Munyabagisha alongside the Chef de Mission, Mr. Nzabanterura Eugene confirmed that the Rwandan Team is competing in Commonwealth Games 2018 with the purpose of reaching the podium.

The CGA President Amb. Valens noted the event will be held during the commemoration week where country remembers victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi but they have agreed with organizers to join Rwandans in commemoration.

“We didn’t have a role to schedule the competition dates but we have asked the organizers to let our teams to have a moment to remember on April 7 and to wear a black ribbon as a sign of remembrance in each game,” said Amb. Munyabagisha.

The press conference attracted almost all local media houses and they have pledged to be supportive as always.
